Metafast

SO, I started Metafast a week ago. I weighed 174.2 (I think). This was an all time high weight - not including pregnancy. This morning I got to 168.6. A weight I haven't seen for awhile. My clothes don't fit any differently, but just the idea of that number is exciting.

This week has been difficult, but not to bad. In a lot of way, it's been easier for me to stick with the diet because it's so clear what I can & can't eat. I've had a bit of a headache, I haven't worked out much & they days I've tried I've felt sluggish as I've tried to work out. But it hasn't been that bad. And I feel like I'm starting to get into the grove. I so hope I can do this & this will be it. I can make the connection. I wish I was doing this eating "real" food. So, that when the transition is over I'll have more confidence that I'll be able to stick with it. But I'm desperate. I want to lose this weight.

REALIZATION 1: Day at the fair. I had a few bites of fair food. It smelled AMAZING. But the bites I had weren't very good. And I thougth, I wouldn't have thought twice about eating this food. It's so good for me to have a clear line of what I can & can't eat.

REALIZATION 2: Salad is a treat: I had an interesting realization today. Rachel and I had a date. We stopped at Qudoba for dinner & my "treat" is getting to eat a salad. How funny is that. Usually, a salad is a let down. Someting I feel like I'm getting but wish I wasn't. However, with this diet, eating "real food" is such a flavorful treat.
